Valuation

Valuations are charged on a percentage basis and we believe you would find our rates extremely competitive!

It is important to note that we are quite willing to offer verbal valuations, at our premises, on small quantities of items, perhaps two or three? At no cost to the client.

IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING THE VALUATION OF ITEMS PURCHASED FROM SATELLITE / CABLE CHANNELS

Many companies offering valuation services, will not give valuations for items  purchased via satellite & cable channels

We are not sure why they do this because as far as we are concerned, the jewellery is of good quality and appears to be well priced, and, from what we have seen so far, very attractive. So as a company we are more than happy to provide insurance valuations for such items. 

What we do require, however, is the original reciept and any paperwork you may have for any item you may wish to have valued.

The reason for this is that many of the items purchased from the satellite & cable channels sometimes contain rare or unusual gem stones that we are not familiar with and without knowing what the gemstone is, we may have to enlist the services of a qualified gemoligist. This obviously can incur costs over and above the cost of the valuation. 

Please note: The majority of "Jewellers" are not "gemologists" and vice a versa. The definition of a jeweller is someone who sells or deals with jewellery. They do not have to be a gemologist. Vis a vis, the majority of gemologists are not neccessarily jewellers. The defintion of a gemologist, is someone who is an expert in the field of gemology and usually with a qualification such as "Fellow of  the Gemological Association" or "FGA".
