The design of a piece of jewellery is incredibly important. Do you opt for a delicate, elegant design that they will wear every so often, or a more sturdy piece that they can wear all the time?
This heavily depends on how much they wear jewellery to begin with. If they rarely wear jewellery and only ever wear it to special occasions, they may prefer a more delicate piece that oozes sophistication and elegance.
If they regularly wear jewellery, then they may prefer something that they can wear more often than not. Again, this is a matter of observing what kind of jewellery that they are wearing and where they are wearing it.

The final stage of jewellery selection is probably the easiest of them all, and by now, you are probably welcoming a simpler choice in the process!
Once again, this should be based on the preference of the person that you are buying for, but it can also depend on the relationship that you have with them.
For significant others, rings, earrings necklaces and pendants are usually the best gifts as they are a more personal gift with a romantic undertone to them. For close friends and family, earrings or bracelets make wonderful gifts without being too personal.
